Adult Volunteer Opportunities
West Place relies on volunteers to operate 7 days per week, 365 days per year. We are always seeking dedicated and reliable volunteers to help in a variety of ways. Volunteering doesn't take much of your time, and provides so much in return. Learn more and apply today at westplace.org/volunteer-app.
JUMP TO . . .
Direct Care
Help with feeding, cleaning, and hands-on enrichment.
Partial Day: Those who can commit to a four-hour shift once a week (for a minimum of one year) can get involved with feeding, cleaning, and hands-on animal enrichment. Morning and afternoon/evening shifts run every day of the week, but openings do vary so be sure to let us know your availability.
Full Day: Same as above with the ability to learn additional skills and experience an entire day at the sanctuary.
Green Thumb
Lend a hand growing food for our residents and making the sanctuary shine!
Help us keep the pond, gardens, orchard, wildlife berry garden and other areas in top shape for our animals and our visitors. And if you don't have a green thumb but want one, this is the place to learn.

We grow as much food on site for our animals as possible, and even teach our temporary wildlife residents what to search for when they return to the wild. On-site growing is efficient and saves us money, but we can't do it without you.
Handyperson or Painter
Put your skills to use to help maintain our buildings and pasture fencing.
There is so much more to do in addition to caring for the animals. If you have carpentry, masonry, or general handywork skills, and you can lend just a few hours each week, we would love to have you join us to help fix everything that breaks or wears out.

If you can paint, the pasture fences, the barn, and all the animal buildings take a beating each year and we would be grateful to anyone who can wield a paintbrush.
Social Media/IT
Help us share our important cause and spread the word about our sanctuary.
We want to share our mission and our animals' stories far and wide, and social media is an efficient and inexpensive way to do so. Your talent can help us spread the word and reach new audiences who will support our lifesaving work. Experience necessary.
We continue to build our following organically with both uplifting posts and important information. If you have experience with content creation or account management, or if you are and IT professional who can lend behind-the-scenes support, get in touch!

Administrative Assistant
Keep us organized by helping with administrative duties.
Are you organized and detail-oriented? Know how to use a computer and perform research? Can you maintain databases, run errands, reply to emails, and more? We'd love your help once a week with minor administrative duties and communications.

Some work to be done on site and some work may be done remotely. Must have your own computer, preferably a laptop for on-site work.
Fundraising
Help us raise funds to keep our animals happy and healthy.
Our reputation and the demand for our services continue to grow, and our resources must keep pace. We need to raise more and more funds each year in order to continue our mission, as well as expand. If you can throw a party, host a fundraiser, leverage connections, and build relationships, you can help us fundraise . . . all on your own schedule.
